I’d like to start by thanking you all for your ongoing support and understanding at this time in relation to Covid and the recent class closures. It is worrying time for us all and we are doing our very best to protect our school community and ensure that everyone is able to celebrate Christmas Covid-free. Well done to all of the children who have been working from home each day on Seesaw. We look forward to welcoming you all back on Monday.

COVID updates

In school we will continue to ensure there is good prevention control (ventilation, regular cleaning of surfaces etc), including staff areas; continue to promote twice weekly asymptomatic testing amongst staff; and encourage everyone to stay at home if they feel unwell.

Colds and other non-COVID 19 symptoms are circulating but in the first instance cardinal symptoms (high temperature, cough, loss of taste/smell) should be treated as possible COVID 19 and should trigger isolation and PCR testing. If negative for COVID 19, individuals should still wait until 24 hours post fever to return to school.

If someone in the household tests positive for COVID 19 then we advise that other household members take a PCR test and isolate until they have received the results even if they have no symptoms. If this is negative then that return to school, but it is recommended that they take daily Lateral Flow Tests. For primary school aged children this is at the discretion of the parent/guardian.

If you are in any doubt as to whether you should send your child to school then please do contact the school office for further guidance. We really appreciate your ongoing support in making sure that our school stays as protected as possible against COVID 19.
