Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome to all our new parents and carers and for those of you who have been with us for a while, welcome back. We hope you had a restful summer. We are now well and truly back into the swing of school life. We will be sending a newsletter every fortnight to keep you updated on any news and events.

Uniform

Firstly we apologies for the inconvenience caused by the delivery of the school uniform and some miscommunication regarding items and sizes. We have really appreciated you support and understanding on the matter. Kitting out 163 pupils is no mean feat!

Class Information

If you haven’t received it already, your child will be coming home with a letter from their class teacher informing you of your class P.E day, general routines in the class and homework expectations. Please take time to read this letter as it is important that you support your child in ensuring they have the correct resources in school each day.

Healthy lunchboxes

To grow and stay healthy children need to eat a nutritionally well balanced diet. Packed lunches can contribute to almost a third of a child’s weekly food intake and therefore need to be balanced and nutritious. The content of lunchboxes needs to reflect the requirement of schools to meet minimum food and nutrition standards for school meals.

Please support us by only including one of these items in a packed lunch each day

Foods and drinks high in fat and / or sugar It is important not to fill up on too many foods that are high in fat and / or sugar at the expense of other more nutritious foods. Limiting high fat and sugar foods will help protect young people from becoming overweight as well as helping prevent tooth decay, heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.
